I love to travel. There is something about the air in a new country, being surrounded by foreign smells and briefly adapting to a different culture that makes me feel alive.
I'm currently in Marrakech getting lost in the colourful souks and falling in love with the beautiful Moorish architecture that surrounds every riad. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Rich fabrics and eye catching designs rule and I'm close to turning my apartment into a mini Morocco after purchasing maybe one too many items from the ever present sellers!
The food is sublime. from hearty tagines (lamb is my preference) with fluffy cous cous jewelled with raisins and yummy light salads sprinkled in coriander. I'm glad I brought some elasticated clothing at this stage.
The people are friendly and everyone wants you to share a mint tea. I'm getting to practice my ever rusty Arabic much to my delight and the amusment of the locals.
Here is to Marrakesh. Hustle and bustle but utterly beautiful. Hopefully I'll be back soon!
